Mid-year concert- 23rd June 2019

End of year concert- 14th December 2019

These are not compulsory however we do encourage participation. All proceeds from our mid-year concert go to a charity of our choice. Previously we have donated $5,500 to the Orange Health Service Children's Ward

Ballet- At CWPA we believe ballet is the foundation of all other styles of dance and we do encourage our students to take at least one class per week. We teach from the A.T.O.D and R.A.D syllabus.

Jazz- Our students are exposed to a wide variety of styles in our classes, ranging from musical theatre to commercial jazz. We take care to use age appropriate moves and music whilst keeping our choreography fresh and current.

Tap- Teaching from the A.T.O.D syllabus, our students are fortunate to be exposed to both classic tap and our funky 'Street Beat' style giving them the best of both worlds.

Hip Hop- A fun, energetic class teaching street dance with elements of floor work involved.

Contemporary/Lyrical- Based on classical technique, this class allows the students to explore more fluid movements and to connect the mind and body to the music. Similar to styles you may see on So You Think You Can Dance etc

Ball Class- A Progressing Ballet Technique class for the dedicated dancer wishing to improve technique.

Pointe Class- This class is for those who have reached the appropriate strength and technical level. Please note that not everyone will get their pointe shoes at the same age or grade, you must wait until we feel you are physically ready to safely dance on pointe.

At CWPA we offer exams in classical ballet and tap. Our exam sessions are normally held in September, exams are not compulsory but are encouraged.

One of the things we pride ourselves on at Central West Performing Arts is having qualified teachers with many years of knowledge. We are also very proud of the fact we can offer our dedicated students the chance to gain their teaching qualifications through us. This is something we believe sets us apart from many of our competitors. Please contact if you wish to find out more.

At CWPA we offer private lessons for eisteddfod work or for technical advancement. Students who wish to commit to solos eisteddfod work must be doing a minimum of 3 classes, 2 of which must be ballet from 9 and up. Please contact us if you wish to find out more.

You will notice in our timetable the addition of a troupe class. This will be offered to students 12yrs and up who participate in 4 or more classes per week. Troupe will require 100% commitment from all members. We will not be competing in many local eisteddfods but at larger scale competitions such as Australian Dance Festival. All troupe members must be available to learn routine. Dates and additional costs TBA. The weekly troupe class will not incur an additional cost. Those wishing to participate must register their interest by the last week of term.

We are also excited to announce the addition of our 5yrs pre kindy class on a Saturday morning 9-10. This class is for those who are going to school in 2020 and will be a half hour ballet and half hour jazz class also focusing on school readiness.

Our ballet buddies class is another exciting new addition aimed at children 2-5yrs. This can be taken separately or in conjunction with our Ready Set Dance class.
